Capt. David C. Koch started his professional-writing career in the early 1970s with the publication of his first magazine article about the then new sport of hang gliding. He followed that up a couple of years later with an article in  Airline Pilot Magazine about how airline pilots could become commercial Space Shuttle pilots.  At that time, he was a pilot for United Airlines, an Assault Helicopter Pilot for the U.S. Army National Guard, a corporate pilot and an aviation entrepreneur. Over the ensuing decades, he has published scores of articles about aviation and space. He has also produced numerous formal business-case studies and business plans as well as scripts for video productions and countless speeches. 

In 1986, he produced an “audiogram” (16-cassett tapes with a printed workbook) titled “Jet Airline Pilot:  What It Means to be One/How to Become One”. Capt. Koch published his first book  “False Security: The Real Story About Airline Safety” in 2003. In 2013, he published his second book, “A Personal Flyer’s Guide to More Enjoyable Flying”. “Air Travelers Heaven”, his third book, was published in 2016, and his fourth book—“The Cornucopia Proposals: Achieving the American Dream”—was published in 2020.

Capt. David C. Koch has been an aviation/aerospace-industry professional for over fifty years. He has extensive experience as an aviation manager and consultant.  He has several aviation-related entrepreneurial ventures to his credit. He has made numerous media appearances and he has been a featured speaker at various aviation-industry and community-organization events and meetings.

 Capt. Koch has served as Special Assistant to the president of United Airlines for Space Shuttle acquisition, Founding National Chairman of the American Society of Aero Space Pilots (ASAP), Chairman of the Publicity Committee of the Houston Chapter of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), Founding President of the Houston Chapter of the Aviation/Space Writers Association (AWA), Founding Chairman of the Air Line Pilots Association Professional Outlook Committee (ALPA—United Airlines), Founding Chairman of the United Pilots Buyout Committee, Founding Chairman of Houston Space Week, Managing Trustee of The Aerospace Trust, the Founding Executive Director of the Center For Airmanship Excellence, a member of the National Space Society Space Settlement Advocacy Committee, a director of NewSpace Chicago and a member of the Kishwaukee College Aviation Advisory Committee.  He is an Adjunct Instructor in the Kishwaukee College aviation program. He has also served as the Founder and CEO of Aerospace International Companies, AvWorld Public Charters, Allstates Aviation, Apollo Skysails, Cloud 9 Air Travelers Club, AvWorld FliteMatrix and AirChicago Holdings, Inc.
