The Cornucopia Proposals
Welcome!
My ongoing research into economics has yielded a very timely statement by Nobel-Prize-winning economist Milton Friedman (1912-2006). Friedman is widely quoted as saying, “Only a crisis—actual or perceived—produces real change. When that crisis occurs, the actions that are taken depend on the ideas that are lying around. That, I believe, is our basic function: to develop alternatives to existing policies, to keep them alive and available until the politically impossible becomes the politically inevitable.”
My hope is that “The Cornucopia Proposals” will be among the “ideas that are lying around” when our leaders chart a path out of our current crisis. And, if the current crisis inspires enough readers of this book to take action for the adoption of “The Cornucopia Proposals”, I believe we have a very good chance of making them a reality.
